Xalavro Open Kitchen restaurant with its gastronomic fine dining proposals stands right by the popular cocktail bar Xalavro Open Bar in the pedestrian Milatou Street in the heart of Heraklion city and shares an “open” philosophy, love for experimentation and relaxing summer mood.

As in Xalavro Open Bar, our restaurant offers homemade dishes and excellent quality local ingredients, while the cooking ritual takes place right in front of your eyes, in the open kitchen of Xalavro. Wonderful flavors inspired by Mediterranean dishes and the Asian philosophy are paired for you to enjoy. 

Delicious brunch

The day in Xalavro Open Kitchen begins with a filling and tasty brunch, savory, sweet and vegan options (omelets, eggs benedict, open sandwiches, cinnamon rolls etc.) and carries on at noon and through the evening with even more spectacular creations.

Fusion menu

Executive chef Nikos Kasotakis is the creator of a fusion menu with Mediterranean dishes enhanced with flavors of Asia. Meat, fish, seafood and vegetable dishes come together to creative and gastronomic delights addressing to delicate palates.

Bar Food

Of course, Xalavro Open Kitchen offers a variety of finger food and street food, as well, for those who like to enjoy their cocktail accompanied by a snack.

Nikos Kasotakis is a multi-awarded chef with a long experience in some of the best and award-winning restaurants in Greece and abroad. Nikos has worked as a chef in the kitchen of “Venetian Well” Restaurant in Corfu as well as at the à la carte restaurants of Amirandes Grecotel Exclusive Resort. His thirst for knowledge led him to London where he worked for the 2 Michelin star awarded “Green House” as well as in “Vendôme” in Bensberg, Germany, one of the top restaurants and among the few to boast 3 Michelin stars. In Greece, he has worked in the kitchen of one of the most popular restaurants, the “Spondi” Restaurant, also awarded with 2 Michelin stars, and he has collaborated with Gkikas Xenakis at the “Aleria” Restaurant in Metaxourgio, Athens. In Xalavro Open Kitchen in Heraklion city, Nikos Kasotakis will take you to a journey among Mediterranean and Asian tastes and will introduce you to a delicate gourmet and vegetarian approach to finger food and street food.
