Xalavro Open Kitchen restaurant with its
gastronomic fine dining proposals stands
right by the popular cocktail bar Xalavro
Open Bar in the pedestrian Milatou Street in
the heart of Heraklion city and shares an “open”
philosophy, love for experimentation
and relaxing summer mood.
 

As in Xalavro Open Bar, our restaurant offers
homemade dishes and excellent quality local
ingredients, while the cooking ritual takes
place right in front of your eyes, in the open
kitchen of Xalavro. Wonderful flavors inspired
by Mediterranean dishes and the Asian philosophy
are paired for you to enjoy.

sweet and vegan options (omelets, eggs
benedict, open sandwiches, cinnamon rolls etc.)
and carries on at noon and
through the evening with even more
spectacular creations.

Angelos Genetzakis

Xalavro Executive Chef

Angelos Genetzakis is an Executive Chef with international experience in leading fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants, including Cinc Sentits (2★), Libertine (1★), and Frantzén (3★). His time in Scandinavia shaped a culinary philosophy focused on seasonality, precision, and minimalism, while his experience in the Caribbean added bold and vibrant influences to his style. He later served as Chef de Cuisine at Daios Cove, leading Ocean Restaurant and Conseil by Alain Ducasse, collaborating with renowned chefs such as Jean-Philippe Blondet, Juan Roca, and Amaury Bouhours. Today, Angelos combines his international background with Mediterranean roots, creating a refined and contemporary culinary identity.
